CGM Bloopers.

Life with diabetes isn't always a smooth ride. Sometimes it's a whirly-twirly rollercoaster and I'm just trying not to ralph on the kid sitting in front of me.

While I can achieve pretty decent in-rangey numbers most of the time, I certainly have my share of "Oh, crap" moments. Times where I SWAGed unsuccessfully. Times where I forgot to use a combo bolus in place of the regular kind. Times where it was Tuesday. (In other words, times where I have no freaking idea what happened.)

I love sharing the successes I have, like this guy:

It's No-Hitter-ish!
But, let's be realistic - it's not always like that. Instead, a lot of it is like this.

The CGM Blooper Reel.

One of these spikes is not like the other...
Doesn't look like a constant blood sugar to me, Jim.
Oh, there's my coffee.

I was just as confused.

At least I was consistent?

I can't help but think that this looks like a camel.

Correcting one problem with another.

  2. You are fantastic! I love that you can see the humor in all of this. If we don't laugh then we would cry. Bless you!

  3. This is a GREAT post! Sometimes seeing pictures of other peoples' perfect days get a little disheartening, so thanks for sharing some real life.

I'm jealous of your pink case though. And the blue one. We only have boring grey here :-(

  4. We need more of you. I would like you to make a Dexcom commercial: "We're here with you through the SWAG boluses. Through the accidental straight-that-should-have-been-combo boluses. Through the target-induced-lows. Through the no hitters. Through every Tuesday. And we have bright jackets."

  6. Thanks for sharing. I love seeing pics. Makes it more real and more comfort knowing there are other people besides me and my hubby obsessing about a wavy line all day lol

  9. I love ALL the pics! "Blooper reel" is such an appropriate way to put it. This made me smile. I guess we've all been there and it's relatable bc it doesn't seem like the sort of thing that SHOULD make us smile. :)
