Health e-Voices Conference.

I want to disclose in a more formal way, rather than a what-does-that-hashtag-mean sort of way, that this weekend I will be attending a conference in Jersey City hosted by Janssen (a Johnson & Johnson company) and Everyday Health. Here's the conference description:

Healthevoices is a first-ever conference created specifically for online health advocates and focus(es) on strengthening online communities; providing valuable insights and education that will lead to stronger networks and empowered health communities.

That's pretty ambitious (how do they know their insights are valuable to me?), but I'm hoping it's mostly true. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with friends and meeting new ones, and learning some things along the way.

I'm also looking forward to the first time, because of the lack of capitalization, that someone mistakes the event's hashtag for a laryngitis fundraiser. ("Heal the Voices!")

Additionally, I want to disclose that my costs to attend this conference are being covered by Janssen. That means hotel costs, flights, most of the meals, and transportation between the airport and the hotel are all being covered for all attendees.

So, that's a thing. And I'll be using the event's hashtag, #HealthEVoices15, for the next few days, in case you got curious.

  1. "Heal The Voices!"

  2. I was in Jersey City last week... at the Liberty Science Center... over spring break... packed with screaming kids. Trust me, the voices didn't need healing; they were working in perfect, ear-piercing form. But unless this forum is taking place at LSC or at the Exchange Place Hyatt, I do find Jersey City to be an odd choice of venue.

    Either way, enjoy the trip and I'm really curious to hear about online health communities other than the diabetes one that we know and love! I wonder what kind of scale they have and what forums they use.

  3. That's awesome, I'm definitely going to follow along.

  4. I love that you are going and sharing even more than I love your wordplay!

    Laryngitis fundraiser or Healtheovo flavor frozen dessert fundraiser? I bet you've never even heard of that flavor.

  5. Great Post and Nice Article.I like it.Thanks for sharing.

  6. About to try this pancreas jumpstart thing, am I getting to the desperation point?
    Ok, sometimes I just get tired of taking my shots and wonder if it will ever go away. I am always looking for new information, after some research on cancer treatments I started doubting if our good practitioners really want us to get better or they are just racking up profits at our expense. It is just sad especially when I get paranoid that everything might just be a conspiracy or

    The thing is, I try everything to make my situation better, I have always believed that there might be something that can might help. I try to include herbs in my diet just for the sake, then one day I find myself in this crazy link;

    The site is all so optimistic and apparently very cheap that I start to doubt. But looking at what they guy is suggesting as a remedy makes me think otherwise. I know, there are many who would like to rip me off because of my desperate situation, and you know what they say; if the deals is too good to be true you keep off. So I thought maybe and because this pancreas jumpstart thing is somehow popular I might need some advice here.

    Or is it just a hoax?
