I completely remember the days of exchanges, and needing to eat 3 snacks a day. I was diagnosed in the OLDEN olden days, though, before we even had blood testing (and if I'm remembering right, I think I only took one or two shots a day.) I don't think I could've even imagined these CGMS/Pump days...Which makes me really look forward to the future. Who knows what we'll have in another decade?Pieces of My Life (Elizabeth)http://www.blog.elizabethjoyarnold.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860126842626343555.post-89935797767014918802010-11-15T15:50:40.426-06:002010-11-15T15:50:40.426-06:00Dude, seriously - my grandmother found and sent me...Dude, seriously - my grandmother found and sent me that book just a year ago. "Eating for your insulin" is a very accurate description of my life up until early adulthood. :)Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04857046266371772742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860126842626343555.post-49103737360164830922010-11-13T21:19:21.331-06:002010-11-13T21:19:21.331-06:00I totally remember Stacy! I loved The Babysitters' Club.

It's so interesting to read about what people did for diabetes before pumps or long-acting + rapid acting insulin became the norm. An IRL friend of mine who's been diabetic since she was 7 said it was like her "life changed" when she was introduced to the concept of taking insulin for what you eat, instead of eating for your insulin. Did you feel that way, too?Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02119673940603757379noreply@blogger.com
