You're Beautiful.

Yesterday, my friend Wendy shared something about her young daughter on Facebook.

And from yesterday until a few minutes ago, Sara, Jess, and I aggregated some of those affirmations... and now we're sharing them.

I WEAR GLASSES AND A PUMP AND MY FACE
ONLY GETS STUCK LIKE THIS SOMETIMES

For Wendy's daughter (who was - coincidentally? - diagnosed seven years ago TODAY), and anyone else who has to wear a lot of hardware: you can do this, and you can ROCK IT.

  2. I've been wearing glasses now for 23 years, and I was diagnosed as T1D 7 months ago. Now I wear a pump!! I'm 34 years old. This video had me in tears...I just imagined that MY name was Sugar as I was watching. Thanks so much for making this for all young kids and the not so young kids that need words of encouragement. I CAN do this! And so can Sugar, glasses and all ;)

  13. Hi Kim, it's your Mom. Don't know the age of Wendy's daughter, but they should know that sometimes you only need glasses for a few years and the eyes self-correct to not needing them for many years. This happened to me once in grade school and once in my mid 20's. But after about age 40, well, different story.
