The You Can Do This Project.

A while back, I had an idea.

Today, that idea is coming to life. Today, the You Can Do This Project is born.

Some familiar faces from the diabetes online community were kind enough to help me get this thing off the ground, by helping me make a video explaining what this project is all about. Watch it here:

You can now find a permanent tab on Texting My Pancreas (in the blue bar above) labeled "You Can Do This Project", which has a full description, FAQ section, and links to all of the ways you can add your voice.

I'm so excited about this, I could burst.

Launch Day is June 15th, 2011. Will you join me?

(P.S. A huge THANK YOU goes to Kerri Sparling for her help with the video.)

  1. This is beautiful! I'm got tears in my eyes just watching this video...I'm ready for lots of tears once the real thing starts! Maybe I'll have to get a flip for this!

  2. This is incredible, and it really got to me. I'm sitting here at the kitchen table now, trying to leave for work, but wiping tears from my eyes... even as my heart jumps with excitement about being a part of this. I'm so in. Yes, I CAN do this, and WILL. In part, because so many others show me what is possible. Thanks for coordinating all this, Kim. Looking forward to seeing it erupt into even more awesomeness on June 15th and beyond.

  6. Kim, this is AWESOME!!! I have goosebumps just from watching this video, and of course, I'm in! I CAN do this, and I'm in to help other people to let them know that THEY CAN DO THIS! The DOC is amazing, and such an amazing support team for anyone with Type 1, Type 2, and LADA. This is an amazing, awesome, wonderful idea, and I'm in to do anything you need to help get this project going... including adding my own video at the right time! :)

  13. I am definitely checking this out, I've bookmarked the page and will be back! I've struggled with fear of hypos for over 20 years and am really scared about the future, so any encouragement is gladly received!! Maybe I'll be brave and do my own video!

  30. Kim, you're so brave and beautiful. Many will benefit from learning that even when times are as dark as they are, there is truly light above that deep hole with hands such as yours outstretched to help and to hug. Wishing you much love and joy as you continue shining brightly for yourself and others.
